And on the third and final day of celebration… a rather special giveaway

By | August 19, 2016

I really do have something rather special for you today. If you were to ask me my favourite book read this year so far… well, I’d really struggle, because I always do. But one of the very strongest contenders would have to be In Her Wake by Amanda Jennings. If you haven’t read my review, you’ll find it here.  And I’m really thrilled that part of it is reproduced inside the book – that’s something that always gives me a thrill!

A short while ago, I was the winning bidder in a charity auction organised by Karen Sullivan at Orenda Books – to win signed copies of books by both Amanda and Louise Beech. The auction was in support of Holly Howard’s Coast to Coast bike ride in support of Diabetes UK (Holly is Amanda’s god-daughter) – you can read more about it here, and the Just Giving page is still open. If whoever wins this giveaway (or, indeed, anyone who enters it) could spare a few pounds or pennies to boost Holly’s total – no obligation, but that would be really lovely.

I already have my own signed and numbered hardback copy of In Her Wake – so I’m offering part of my auction win as today’s giveaway. First prize is one of 20 author copies of the hardback first edition of the book, signed by Amanda Jennings.

And thanks to Amanda’s generosity, I can also offer a second prize –  a signed paperback copy. Because of the postage costs, I’m sorry that I have to make this one UK only. Here’s the rafflecopter for entry:

Good luck everyone!

(P.S. I won’t be giving away my signed copy of Louise Beech’s How To Be Brave – it has some personally commissioned artwork, the nature of which I will leave to the imagination…!)

Read so many great books this year, I particularly enjoyed The Ballroom by Anna Hope and loved The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper. Milly Johnson’s latest Summer at Wildflower Cottage was a delight. Hate having to choose my favourite.
