I had the real pleasure of meeting Katherine Garbera recently, when I had lunch with the Belmont Belles – a warm and lovely lady. And I was delighted to see that Rachel at Rachel’s Random Resources was organising a blog tour for Katherine’s latest book, Christmas at the Candied Apple Café, published by Harper Impulse on 10th November and available via Amazon in the UK and US.
There’s nothing so magical as Christmas in New York…
Santa is coming to New York!
Snow is falling, excitement is high and the delicious scent of chocolate drifts along Fifth Avenue – the Candied Apple Café is ready for Christmas! And no one is busier than publicist Iona Summerlin. With so much to do, she doesn’t have time to think about men, dating, or the fact her last boyfriend ditched her for her brother… Relationships are off the menu!
Hotel boss Mads Eriksson is not looking forward to the first Christmas since losing his wife. His six-year-old daughter Sofia has lost her belief in Christmas magic along with her mother, and he has no idea what to do. But an unusually festive business meeting at the Candied Apple – and meeting the beautiful Iona – starts to defrost Mads’ frozen heart, and suddenly life seems full of light and sparkle again.
If only they dare to believe, maybe all their Christmas dreams will come true!
Oh my goodness, doesn’t that look just lovely?
And I’m delighted to welcome author Katherine Garbera to Being Anne to answer a few Christmas themed questions…
What is your favourite Christmas song?
My favourite Christmas song to sing is Do You Hear What I Hear? (Oh, Katherine, me too! Let’s get in the Christmas mood….)
My favourite one to listen to is Mary, Did You Know? My favourite one to sing along to with my kids is Jingle Bells.
What is your favourite snow- or ice-related winter activity?
I can’t snow ski but I do love a good snowball fight. Also because I grew up in Florida I’m pretty horrible at ice skating but my kids love it so I always take them and usually make one circuit around the ice rink hanging onto the wall and then go and get a cup of coffee and watch them for the rest of the time.
What is your favourite thing about winter?
Hmm…this one is harder, I have a few things that I love about winter, the first is blankets and snuggling under them with my husband. We usually cuddle close on the couch in winter and put a thick blanket over our legs while we are watching tv or reading. I also love wearing boots and sweaters (jumpers).
Themed family photo for the Christmas card or not?
Yes! 100 times yes…
I love nothing more than making my family dress in matching outfits and pose for a family photo. Here is one from a few years ago where I had everyone wearing santa hats!
(And here’s the less formal version…!)
Katherine, thank you – wishing you every success with the book, it looks thoroughly gorgeous…
