Earlier this year, it gave me immense pleasure to discover debut novelist Faith Hogan. Faith joined me for a chat, and I reviewed My Husband’s Wives. The story-telling – and the writing – were superb, and I was enthralled by what became a wonderful read about the intricacies of female friendship, love in its many guises, and a group of women each finding their own strength and ability to move on. You’ll find my feature here. And I’m delighted today to reveal the cover of Faith’s second novel, Secrets We Keep – a bittersweet story of love, loss and life, described as perfect for fans of Patricia Scanlan and Adele Parks – to be published by Aria, an imprint of Head of Zeus, on 1st February.
The beautiful old Bath House in Ballytokeep has lain empty and abandoned for decades. For devoted pensioners Archie and Iris, it holds too many conflicting memories of their adolescent dalliances and tragic consequences – sometimes it’s better to leave the past where it belongs.
For highflying, top London divorce lawyer Kate Hunt, it’s a fresh start – maybe even her future. On a winter visit to see her estranged Aunt Iris she falls in love with the Bath House. Inspired, she moves to Ballytokeep leaving her past heartache 600 miles away – but can you ever escape your past or your destiny?
Don’t know about you, but I’m SO looking forward to it!
