Hello again everyone! I’m sorry about the break in transmission, but I’ve just come back from the most wonderful holiday in Borneo and Singapore. I’ve seen so many wonderful things, and have loads of great stories to tell – but I’ll save them for a few articles I’m planning to write for OAPSchat, and share the links as soon as they’re done and published.
Some unforgettable memories – particularly sitting in pitch darkness in a small boat on the Kinabatangan river while our guide barked like a dog and shone a torch into the undergrowth trying to attract pygmy elephants…
Lots more photos via my personal Facebook page, in five separate files. Here are the public links if you’d like to take a look:
Part 1 – Borneo, the first five days
Part 2 – Sepilok and the Sun Bears
Part 3 – In the jungle
Part 4 – First days in Singapore
Part 5 – Final days in Singapore
And before I get back to the book related posts, I have two Borneo-related bundles to give away (UK only) – each one comprised of a bookmark, a fridge magnet, three postcards and a keyring.
I’m just getting myself sorted out before Being Anne gets going again as normal… I’ve only read one book in the last fortnight (totally unheard of, but there was far too much to see and do…) but I have some really lovely features coming up. I’ll be back tomorrow to let you know what you can look forward to over the next few weeks.
I’ll just leave you for now with a few photos from the phenomenal light show at the Gardens by the Bay in Singapore…
Looks like you had an amazing time Anne, I'm not sure I could have coped with the heat but I'd have loved to have gone to the Sepilock Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre.
Mind you the light show in Singapore is simply stunning too… two complete contrasts but amazing experiences for you.
Welcome home x
It looks as though you have had an amazing time, it all looks wonderful, I would have loved to done any of it at all! Welcome back, you've been missed x
As much as I love animals the light show must have been breathtaking. Welcome home.
I've been lucky enough to visit Borneo as well and loved my visit to Sepilok. But much as I'd love to go again I'd like to have seen the light show in Singapore. So glad you had a great holiday with many happy memories.
